This is my sweet hubby. I thought I would write alittle about him. Not only is he handsome but he is the sweetest man I know. From the first day I met him, he has always been a gentleman, and so sweet to me. Whenever or wherever we go, Mark will always hold my hand, always. We love to be together. Mark loves to go fishing, and wishes I loved it too. He goes fishing with his buddy when he gets a chance, and I love to see him so happy!
Mark loves Sci Fi movies, computer games, computer tech stuff, fishing, camping, hiking and playing cards with family. He is a great Dad, and loves to be with Kyle, throwing a ball, helping him with his homework, or just being crazy.

This year Mark finally passes me up and turns 40. I stopped having birthdays a few years ago!!!!! I love that he is mine and that we can share anything with eachother. Thank you Mark for 17 wonderful years, only 33 more to go and we can dance at our 50th wedding anniversary!!!

We are heading on down the road this weekend to go see these wonderful people!!!! This is an old picture but the same great family!!!!!

It has been awhile since we have been to Redmond for a visit, i guess it was Thanksgiving time! It is always nice to go spend time with them, we always have lots of fun and laughs and the kids get along just great!!!!

I am so lucky to have such a great brother. He has always been there for me. Always protecting me. In high school I was not Carie Fleshman, I was John Fleshmans Little Sister, and that was fine with me!!!!! He always made me proud to have him as my big brother! Thanks John, I love you!!!!

WE....are a Baseball Family!!!

I have a ball player. (and a mighty cute one at that.) Just look at him in this pic, all cool with his shades on. He loves baseball. That is his only sport he plays, and he plays it well. In the Spring and early summer, you can always find us at the field watching him play, it is awesome.

Yesterday was tryout day for his age group. He moves up to Juniors this year. Tryouts were 4 hours, and they judged the players on skills, to be able to place the boys on certain level teams: National, American, or Federal. If we got a call last evening, that meant you have to go back today to show more of your skills, in order for them to place you on a American or Federal team. ....................Kyle got a call back. It is so cool too cause the guy that calls doesnt' just talk to Mark, he asks to talk to Kyle, so he can tell the ball player that they want to see more of his skills. He is thrilled that he gets to play ball again today..............then tonite we should get a call to see what team he made it on.

A couple weeks ago my dad was here and he wanted to get Kyle some Catching Gear. He took Kyle to Dicks Sporting Goods and they had lots of fun trying all the stuff on. Kyle is a Great catcher, and rarely does anything get by him. We hope that with his catching gear he will be able to catch more this year. Kyle and Papa John have a deal for the season. Something about 3 homeruns will get him a new bat.................lets see if he can do it!!!!!!

We are just excited for baseball to start. As soon as we see the sign go up at the baseball field every year, that signups are happening, we all get thrilled. I always tell Kyle that just seeing the sign makes me smile. I look forward to many more baseball seasons, watching my son do what he loves to do. ( this parenting thing turns out to be pretty darn great!!!!) When it is baseball season all of our plans revolve around games. It is fun to have Grammy and Papa, Papa John, Uncle John, Aunt Sandra, Chessy and Josh, come for a visit and take them to a game too!!! I can't wait!

............well I don't know what happened, I guess it was just life that happened. We have been busy with everything, and trying to be happy in all that we do. With things the way they are
right now it is hard to keep smiles on our faces, but we live life one day at a time, enjoyng the beauty.

I am going to try to blog more. I am having troubles getting my pics posted on here, but maybe
I can get "someone" to help me with the computer tricks!!!

What a weekend!!!

Wow, we had such a great long weekend up in Seattlefor our Yankee Game Weekend!!! We left Friday afternoon and headed to Seattle, checked into our hotel and then went to grab dinner and then swim in the pool. Saturday morning we got ready, had breakfast (our hotel had a awesome continental breakfast so we took advantage of that) then headed on to Seattle for the day. We went to Pike Street Market, the very first Starbucks, and down to the water for more shops. We had such a good time watching them throw fish, seeing all the beautiful flowers and vegies, and just watching people. We then headed to IKEA, trying to waste some time before we had to meet Dan and Andrea for the ball game. 3:00 we met at Pyramid Brewery across from Safeco Field for dinner before the BIG game. We were so excited to walk into Safeco field and once we got inside it was so amazing. We got to see bating practice and pitching practice. I think I got alittle starstruck, seeing all my favorite players ( Johnny Damon!!!!) up close. It was awesome. The game was so fun, Yankees won 7 to 3, and seeing them play in person is so surreal!

Sunday we slept in, had breakfast, did some shopping, then headed over to the Rodriguez's new home for a visit. It had been a long time since we had seen all of them and it was so nice to sit and chat while the kids played. We may have stayed alittle too long but we sure enjoyed our time with them, and hope to see them more often now.

We headed home about 5:30 and got home and relaxed a bit before going to bed. It is really nice to go away,but like Dorothy says, there really is....."No place like home!"

Just looking at this picture makes me cry. Last week our little puppy who was just turning 1 yr. got out, ran in the street and hit by a car. His little body just couldn't handle that, and he passed away. Kyle is devastated, and we are all sad. It is so strange to come home and not hear little Max whining to get out of his kennel, or coming up to you and licking your entire face. We sure miss our little guy,he was part of the family. I think even Kaiba, our cat, as much as they fought and he hissed at Max, misses the little guy. Kyle and I did a little memorial outside, planted 2 plants and made a little cross, and put a little toy of Max's there. We are going to make a stepping stone with his name on it too.

We miss you Maximillion................you are loved.

I have seen other bloggers do this and it is kindof fun to learn different things about others.............so here is my list:

1. I am a total "Girlie Girl". My friends tease me about this, but I just can't help it. I love all the cutesy things, hate to be dirty, and love to have tons of curls in my hair.

2. I love to watch sappy romance movies and cry. Then watch them again and cry again. Kyle can't believe that I cry so much in movies.

3. I love PINK. My all time favorite color is Red, but secretly I like pink. ( not so much a secret anymore!) Guess it goes along with the girlie girl and princess thing I have going on!)

4. I love being a Wife and Mom. My boys (hubby and son) are my life. I would do anything for them.

5. I have a sock fetish and a purse fetish and can't have enough of either of them!!!

Big Time UpDates!!!!

FINALLY.......my computer is fixed...( thank you Markie!!!), and the photos I have been looking for have been found. So, here is an update from the past 3 months..............past to present!!!!!

Kyles Birthday, was as he says, the best party ever. Funny how you can spend hours planning birthday parties ( as I always have in the past) and the one year you just relax, and just let stuff happen, it turns out to be the best party ever!!!! We had a sleepover party with about 5 boys and they had a ball. Lots of basketball, and laughs, and then playing on the new Wii game Kyle got for his birthday!

Kyle's birthday cake.......He doesnt' like cake, he likes icecream, so I had to make him an ice cream cake. ( how is it that a cake decorators son does not like cake???!!!!!!!!!)

Well, I have been really bad about posting here and I need to get back to it! We have been so busy with sports and getting ready for Halloween there has been no time to be here.

We just got a new camera, and me being so computer illiterate, I can't figure out how to add them on here, it just doesn't want to let me. I need to get the husband in here, aka computer wizard, to help me out. He will fix it in a flash.

With that, I am off and hopefully will have another post on here later today, complete with pictures!!!

Here is a sample picture of my new "WILD" Wedding cake. The bride is my age,(but I am not going to say what that age is!) she proposed, and was just a kick to work with. She wanted this cake so bad, and I told her I would be thrilled to do it. The picture is not good as I took it with my cell phone, but gives an idea of how fun it is. This took me about 5 to 6 hours of work, but it was so fun! (I am a messy cake decorator, don't look at the mess around on the table. I need to put a sign up in my station that says: "I am not messy, I am creative!!!)

After a few years of promises for Kyle, we finally got a puppy!!! Meet the newest member of our family...........this is Max...........Maxi.........Maximillion..............he is 3 months old, a Dapple Mini Doxie and it just so flippin' cute!!! He runs around with his short stubby legs and big paws so out of control with his ears flopping. Then you pick him up and he licks your whole face!!!! So fun!!! He and the cat, Kaiba, are getting along ok, Kaiba doesn't quite know what to think of this little thing!!!

Baseball season we great this year, best year yet!!!!! Kyles team did so well in regular season they made it to State in Eugene. Grammy and Papa, Uncle John, Aunt Sandra, Chessy and Josh all came down during the long weekend to see him play!!!! The team did well, took 5th out of 12 teams. We were very proud. What a awesome way to end the season!!!! Here are a few photos to enjoy!!!!!

My son discovered WATERMELON at his 1st birthday party, he had just learned how to walk, and he had watermelon in his hand the whole time!!!

Advance 9 years later, and as you can see it is still his favorite. Today I cut some watermelon and sent him out to the porch to eat it. These are the fun shots I got!!!!!

Above is a photo of the Yankee patch that is sewn on my sons valance in his "Yankee" room. Baseball season is here, and with that comes lots of practices, games, tournaments, fund raisers, and watching the Yankees on the tube, along with the annual trip to Seattle to watch the Yankees play the Mariners. We are a baseball family and we love the sport!!!

Below is a challenge I took from another blogger, Chad. Challenged to answer all the questions so here I go!!!

1. If you could spend a day with any living celebrity, who would it be and why?
I think that would have to be Ellen Degeneres. I love her look on life, her humor, and the way she can make anyone feel comfortable. I think a day with her would be fun, and uplifting!

2. If you could spend a day with any living music celebrity, who would it be and why?
My first thought would be Toby Keith cause he is my favorite singer right now. But I think I would actually have to pick Reba McEntire. She is a classy lady and I think we could have some really fun chats!
3. What place have you visited that has effected you the most and why?
Trip to Washington DC to see all the historic sites. Changing of the guards, Mt Vernon, Lincoln Memorial. Really made me feel proud, and I love learning about history.

4. Who’s the closest friend you ever had in your life thus far?
Besides my husband, that is pretty much my friend for life, obviously. However, I never would have thought that we would be close today as we were in college, but I would have to say my friend Gabe. He is always there for me, we can talk about anything, and he is just a sweetheart.

5. How did you get into Blogging?
My friend Cyndie told me I had to start a blog, so I did, and I love it!!!

6. Are you an athlete? If so, what sport do you play or have played?
I am not an athlete, I guess I am too much of a girlie girl. I love to watch baseball, especially if my son is playing!

7. Favorite movie and why?
My favorite movie of all time is "The Wizard of Oz". I have loved it since I was a little girl, although the wicked witch scared me back then. I love the whole moral of the story, that there really is no place like home, and if you go looking for happiness and for people that love you, you need to look in your own backyard cause they are always there.

8. Favorite song and why?
A Lullabye my mom taught me when I was young called "Once a Giant"

That would have to be the nite my husband proposed. He took me to a waterfall ( Multnomah Falls) and we walked around, and with the mist coming off the falls, he knelt down and said:
"Carie, I love you, will you be my wife, my lover and my friend forever?" I said yes and the rest is history!

10. What is your favorite car that you have owned?
That would be my very first car that my mom and my brother bought for me. A cute Silver 1975 Toyota Celica, with blue pinstripes and my name on the driver side door.

Wow what a start to the new year, A mess actually!!!!

January 26th, Mark got in an accident on the way home from work, totalling our Ford Escape, and taking him to the ER in an ambulance ride for precautionary measures, he is fine, just a few bruises! Luckily, this was not his fault and everything was taken care of. So, on with life..............

Then Thursday, Feb 1st is here. I go to work, not feeling great, but thinking I will be fine. I lasted 50 minutes at work, came home with bad tummy pains. Thinking it is just gas, I go to bed and think I can work myself through it. All day, my side is hurting, I end up thinking it is Appendicitis. Mark gets home, I am still in pain, we end up going for a visit to the ER, once again! After many tests in the ER, turns out I have a hernia in my belly button and my intestines are being cut off, so in for a hospital stay and surgery.

3 days later, I am home, out of work for a week, with staples in my stomach. So much for my dreams of becoming a bikini model!!!!!;) ( I don't think I have a belly button anymore!)

The week of recovery is over, we go buy a new truck for Mark, and then..............Kyle gets sick! He has a high fever, cough, headache..........he is miserable. This kid does not get sick, so this is very strange for him. He doesn't know how to be sick, tries to be happy, but you can tell he is just miserable. Poor thing, I wish I could take all the pain away.

I went back to work today, 4 hours and lite duty, and I about died. I got so tired just doing the simpliest little things. The staples are still there and driving me crazy. They get taken out on Friday.

Ok so that is 3 right? We are done, done , done. Enough for us!!! When will our lives get back to normal?? I am so ready for NORMAL!!!!!

Our first christmas in our new home. It was a big deal to put lights on the house, Mark didnt' really like getting on the roof but he did it and I was there for moral support on the ground!! He did a great job considering it was his first time. We have the pretty trees in the front yard and we will add something new next year!!! Our neighborhood really goes all out with lights, and fun to walk around and see it all.

Fun Painting the walls!!!!

Now that the painting is done, it is time for the FUN painting to begin!!!! This is on the wall in my kitchen. I did chalkboard paint and then painted a frame to look like wood and painted the Menu word and the grapes and vines. I have always wanted to do this type of painting on the wall, hmmm I may have to do somemore!!!

Kyle is excited to write notes on the chalkboard. My goal is to plan the weeks menu... we'll see how long that lasts!!!! In the meantime it looks really great on the wall!!!! ( thanks to my brother John for giving me tips on how to paint the wood frame and make it look real!!, how did I do John???!!!)

OK, here it is. We are pretty much settled. Seems like it took forever to get everything in place, painted and make this house feel like our Home..............but indeed we did it!!!!!

Here is a pic of the front room, the new couches ( they are not this color, the camera does something, they really are a pretty chocolate brown!) and the new 50" TV!!! Still need some artwork on the walls, but that can wait a bit!!

Here is the kitchen, with pub table and all. I just love my kitchen!!!

The dining room. I changed the hutch a bit took off some doors and displayed my red dishes, it looks so pretty!!!

Our Bedroom. We wanted something totally different, and romantic. This is our little getaway, we love it!!! alittle messy in the pic, sorry!!!

We are so happy here. We did alot of work, and it was fun but we are exhausted. Sunday was our first day that we could actually relax and take a nap!!!

"HOME"..........that is the word that means everything to us now! We are all moved. The move was very hard on all of us, physically and emotionally. After a month of living in Limbo, it is finally settling down and our house is feeling like "HOME"!

Today, was a turning point in getting settled. We have been feeling like we are living in someone elses house. Finally got the computer room together and stuff hung on the walls. The decorations are working great. We are picking and choosing what to hang, and for the first time since we have been married, Mark is really into decorating the house. It is fun to do it together. Kyles room is turning out great, just have to add a few more Yankee items!

I dont' have any new pictures to add yet. I am waiting for the sofa, loveseat and ottoman to be delivered and set before I take pictures! New pictures will be up this week.

For now I am taking a break and enjoying our new "HOME!"

Can you say YANKEES??? Kyle is a Yankee fan, and his room is going to be totally done in Yankees. I read a school paper of his that asked his favorite sport, favorite hobby and favorite sport to watch, all the answers were BASEBALL BASEBALL BASEBALL!!! It also asked for 3 poeple he would like to spend the day with..........answers: ARod,( Alex Rodriguez), Derek Jeter, and Babe Ruth!!!!( all Yankee players!!!) Anyway, here is his painted room that his Uncle John spend alot of time in. Thank you Uncle John!!!!!

OK, here are some Painting pics and After pictures mixed in. (To see the before pictures......look at a previous post of mine titled A Dream Come True.) My Mom and Stepdad, Brother and sister in law came over and we had a painting party!!! We got entry way, front room dining room, kitchen, hallway,and our sons room all painted in one day, 6 of us painting!!!!

Here is Kyle on his first day of school at his new school. Because of the move he had to change schools. He has a young man for a teacher this year and he is very excited about making new friends!!!! Kyle has a style all his own and picked out all his clothes this year.

After school today, Kyle and I went for a swim, which we think may be our last time this summer! Packing for the move has started taking place and it will be hard to make time to enjoy the pool anymore while we still live here! But that is really ok with us, we are so excited to move!! Here are a few pictures!

Anniversary!!!

Mark and I just celebrated our 13th year anniversary yesterday. With the new house and everything we need to do for that, I figured that was our gift to eachother...........then Mark shows up with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, a card, and a starbucks gift card for me. I cooked dinner, fell asleep on the couch, then ended up burning dinner!! We had a nice evening, talking about our plans for the house and sharing some laughs!!!

A much needed Girls Nite Out. My old friend Julie and I took a nite off from being Mommies and Wives and went out and had one of our country dancing nites like we used to when we were single! OH WHAT FUN!!!

Just getting started, the dancing had just begun. It was so hot that nite, we were sweating but so worth it!!
Ahh, our old buddy Bob. We had such great times with him.........I will always cherish the memories, especially that wonderful beach trip day, the day that never ended!!!!

The End of Summer??

Well it has been a very busy summer, but it is all coming to a close rather quickly. With my new job I have not been able to take time off, but we have had fun on weekends. Kyle and I have had lots of quality time this summer, enjoying our afternoons at the pool. Mark is on vacation till Sept 5 now, so he and Kyle will make their Grand Slam trip up to Seattle this week to see the YANKEES play the Marniers. I am sure they will have fun, I will just be home, someone has to work!!!!

Kyle in the Kayak. We were in a tandem kayak, Kyle up front and he helped paddle. We had alot of laughs. Saw an Owl, 3 Blue Herrons, a Northern Harrier, and a beaver on this trip on the Tualitin River!

A Dream Come True...........

After years of waiting and putting it off, Mark and I finally decided to embark on our next adventure...........Home Ownership. We had been looking almost every nite for 3 weeks at different homes. Including Kyle in on the decision too, cause we all have to be happy. Last Sunday, we set out with our Realtor to see two homes. The first home was a cute little house on a nice street, with a nice yard of mostly lawn, perfect for us as we are not gardeners, however the house had more to be desired. So we moved on to the second house. The house was cute but has a very overgrown yard and something we thought we didnt' want.........THEN, we stepped in the house, and the whole story changed.................

Here it is..............

Lots of trees and bushes, going to need Moms help here!!!!!!
Dining room, we have lots of painting to do, getting rid of the pink dining room
A big beautiful kitchen, getting rid of the mint green and the vines on the walls.
The backyard complete with a treehouse for Kyle!!!!
The family room..............brand new carpet throughout the house. A/C, 3 bed, 2 bath, on a corner lot..............we are in love with this house and cannot wait to move in!!!!

This cake is done all in browns and ivory. The bride and I designed it from ideas from different wedding cakes. It was lots of fun to do, and some of my first experiments working with fondant.

Package cakes with a Monogram (CML, what else???) This was a display for the wedding show.
A funky picture of a cake done with sugared cherries and fondant loopy bows! The reception was held on a farm and looked beautiful at the site!

Our 3rd annual Family Camping trip at Cove Palisades. We try to go every year and we always have a great time. We did our Tye dye t-shirts again, and took a family picture.( too shady though!)
